Salt spray testing is a method of checking the corrosion resistance of coatings and materials used to make products such as fasteners. It is an accelerated corrosion test that simulates corrosion in Marine climates and other harsh environments by producing corrosive gases and moisture containing sodium chloride in a salt spray laboratory. Salt testing machine can be used to assess the corrosion resistance of materials and compare the properties of different materials in a short period of time.
