Why do leds need environmental testing
With the continuous development of science and technology, LED as a kind of energy-saving, environmentally friendly lighting technology, has been widely used in outdoor lighting, indoor lighting, automotive lighting and other fields, then LED lamp manufacturers how to stand out from hundreds of enterprises? This absolutely requires excellent quality and longevity.In LED lighting products, their own temperature is usually increased due to the heat generated by certain high-current components. Working in this state for a long time may reduce or destroy the properties of the insulating material in the product, which can lead to electric shock or even fire. If the temperature of the casing, operation control parts and other accessible parts of the product is too high, there is a risk of scalding personnel. At the same time, LED is more sensitive to temperature, and too high temperature will seriously affect the service life of LED. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety performance of LED lights, temperature test is one of the important items in the safety test of LED lights.
The purpose of the LED light environmental reliability test is to simulate the change of the external ambient temperature through the environmental chambers, test the adaptability of the product under extreme temperature conditions, determine the service life of the LED light, and improve the product defects of the LED light. In order to prevent and control LED quality problems, 100% of LED lamps need to be tested for temperature, humidity, aging and weathering after production into the finished product. The main purpose is to test whether the LED is damaged during assembly and to check whether the power supply is stable in a high temperature environment. This can not only meet the requirements of relevant standards, but also improve production efficiency.
LED environmental test conditions
High and low temperature cycle test
1.The LED lamp is placed in a l high and low temperature test chamber , the temperature range is -40° C -150° C -40° C;2.Set the duration of the high and low temperature test chamber to 30min, and the conversion time is <20s;
3.The cycle is set to 100 cycles.
High/low temperature storage
1.Set the high temperature temperature of the high and low temperature test chamber to 85℃ and the low temperature to -40℃;2.The time is set to 168(+16 or -10) h/1000 (+36 or -30) h;
3.If there are no other provisions, the test shall be resumed under standard atmospheric conditions for 2h after completion.
Aging test
Through static aging, components are aged in the aging cabinet for 168 hours using the applied supply voltage (for example, 125°C), equivalent to approximately half a year of operation. Because the failure rates of many components follow a typical bathtub curve, components of uneven quality can be clearly identified and screened out, which are often the cause of premature failure.JOEO environmental chambers is designed to meet the most demanding high and low temperature test conditions for LED environmental testing:
